Dear Tina

Traction alopecia is hair loss caused by constant tension on the hair, such as that created by an over-tight of weaves, hair pieces, hair extentions, ponytail, plaiting or through using too tight rollers to style the hair. The action of pulling on the hair over a long period of time results in the gradual shrinking of the hair follicle and so the hairs produced become finer and finer. So be very careful when using a hair weaving system.

More specifically, Naomi is probably suffering from traction alopecia which isn't caused so much by the weight of the weave but rather the tensile forces (tension) exerted on her hair during the application of the weave.
I strongly disagree with the idea of having your hair "chemically treated once every 12 weeks" as suggested above. Why not try some less fashionable but healthier alternatives such as emu oil application and herbal, vitamin and mineral supplementation? Chances are you'll see better results with fewer negative side effects. Just my 2 cents of course 8-)
